
Robert Berkstresser’s expertise in the field of charter, transit and school bus operations is backed by over 47 years of broad bus transportation experience. Robert began his career in the charter bus industry in 1975 in San Diego holding positions from coach operator to operations director, served as a transportation director for two southern California School Districts and is currently retired from management.
Mr. Berkstresser has a wide array of experience in Driver safety and training, hiring, disciplinary action and driver regulatory requirements and qualifications. He has conducted behind the wheel driver instruction and supervised training programs ensuring that commercial bus operators attain the proper driving skills for professional, smooth and safe bus operation.
Mr. Berkstresser has also been charged with managing carrier operations. He has insured compliance with state and federal regulations and was responsible for carrier maintenance programs.
Mr. Berkstresser maintains a current commercial driver’s license, current unrestricted California School Bus Certificate as well as certification from the U.S. Department of Transportation as a bus operator Instructor. Mr. Berkstresser was certified by the California Department of Education as a school bus, transit bus and motor coach driving instructor in 1980 and has remained active . He has held management positions over a 35 year span overseeing all carrier operations including DOT regulation compliance, vehicle procurement and maintenance activities.
